HR Nicholls Society


an Australian right-wing association formed in 1986, with a policy of opposition to the Australian arbitration system, deregulation of the labour market and the breaking down of the power of trade unions.
{named after H(enry) R(ichard) Nicholls, editor of the Hobart Mercury newspaper, who in 1911 was charged with and acquitted of contempt of court for criticising the president of the Arbitration Court}
